Samuel Morecroft / The Good Samaritan

This page shows the  'Good Samaritan' pots originating from Stafforshire

Samuel Morecroft was born in Staffordshire in 1850 and during his life he had many occupations.
His involvement in herbal medicines came about in 1898 when he took over the village Post Office from where he sold the Good Samaritan Ointment.

Two styles of pot exist. A  large size 'full' pictorial pot depicting a man tending an injured traveller, with a donkey and a background mountain scene.
The second variation has a similar pictorial but more of an outline sketch and missing the mountain scenery. Two sizes exist for this latter pot; no prices are listed on any of the pots.
