This page shows the 'Grandfathers' pot, origin presently unknown.
This very small pot has the word 'Grandfathers' written across the central body of the pot. To the left are listed the complaints that the ointment purported to cure and to the right the Directions for use. The top is a Bakelite cap.
This pot probably date to the end of the Victorian period. This pot has some of the contents still in it ! Further detailed information can be obtained from the Historical Guide to Delftware and Victorian Ointment Pots book produced by Messrs. Houghton & Priestley, Page 75.
