This page shows the ointment pots originating from the Covent Garden area of London for the 'Natures Herbal Ointment'.
Two sizes of the Fredk. Hale pots exist, one tall one with horizontal lettering around the body detailing the directions for use, priced at 2s 9d, and a shorter one with less text priced at 1s 1½d.
Two variations of the 'address' to look for, 61 Chandos Street and 60 Chandos Street, the latter address being where the proprietor Frederick Hale moved his business to just as the Victorian era ended. For both sizes of pots, there are two variations of text relating to the address line; one variation reads 'Prepared by the Proprietor' and the other variation states 'ADDRESS'.
These pots would have had a small ceramic cap.
I have never seen a small or large "Address" pot with the address no. 60. Is there one ?
